100+ at Google on August 13th

More than 100 people stopped everything on Friday August 13th to tell Google how they really felt about the corporate turnaround on net neutrality.

A petition with 330,000 consumer signatures was delivered to the Internet giant at the rally.

In the meantime, Associated Press has reported Spain has begun to investigate Google over its "Street View" mapping feature, becoming the latest country to tangle with the Internet giant over privacy concerns since Google acknowledged earlier this spring that the technology inadvertently collected data fragments of online activities broadcast over public wi-fi networks the last 4 years in over 30 countries.

Madrid judge Raquel Fernandino issued a subpoena for an October 4th appearance by Google based on a complaint filed in June by a private Internet watchdog and technology consultancy called APEDANICA.
