The Internet Strikes Back: 59% of the Country Wants to Ensure Access |
Update: Congress voted to abolish recently-passed lukewarm net neutrality rules. A new Consumer's Union Poll makes it clear the House is out of step with the majority of Americans. In the reactionary zeal currently infesting the House of Representatives, a hearing is scheduled on the recent FCC "watered-down" net neutrality rules. The hearing is helpfully titled "Network Neutrality and Internet Regulation: Warranted or More Economic Harm Than Good". Watch the video. There will then be a vote to overturn the current lukewarm rules and prevent the FCC from taking further regulatory action in the future. While the Senate is unlikely to go along with the House, Public Knowledge is asking for a show of support on February 17th - the day following the hearing.
