The Department's press release, which can be found here stated DOJ believed the merger was anti-competitive and would do harm to American consumers. The announcement follows the submission of new economic models from AT&T to the Federal Communications Commission in an attempt to bolster the giant company's claims that the merger would improve wireless services. The California Public Utilities Commission also independently launched a wide-ranging inquiry on the impact of the planned merger on residents of the state. ## |
