On January 3rd, 6 members of the Global Revolution streaming team in New York's Occupy protests were arrested for residing in a commercially zoned building.
The building, located on Thames Street in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn contained multiple apartments rented as residences and the space used by Global Revolution had been used as a residential unit for more than 2 years previously. No residents of any other unit in the building were arrested.
The six individuals taken by the police were released the following day after being charged with trespassing, resisting arrest and obstruction.
