On December 3, 1984, 27 tons of lethal gas leaked from the Union Carbide pesticide factory in Bhopal, India. 8,000 people were killed and thousands more have been affected by ongoing water contamination. The survivors tour continues to raise awareness of the event and advocate for Union Carbide's parent company Dow Chemical to take responsibility for the lasting impact of the leak.
