We're screening Soul Food Junkies, a film which explores the history and social significance of soul food to black cultural identity and its effect on African American health, good and bad. Soul food will also be used as the lens to investigate the dark side of the food industry and the growing food justice movement that has been born in its wake. Join us after the screening for a free Wine Reception sponsored by Bi-Rite Market and hosted by SF Environment across the street from the Library in their Eco-Center Gallery on 11 Grove St. Panel Discussion will include: Byron Hurt, Director of Soul Food Junkies Eric-Holt Gimenez, Executive Director, Food First Shakirah Simley, Engagement Coordinator, Bi-Rite Market & 18 Reasons Moderated by William Wroblewski, Filmmaker and Food First Fellow
