The Casey Medals for Meritorious Journalism inspire and recognize exemplary reporting on children and families in the U.S. Winning stories offer a fresh take on a significant issue, show enterprise in research and reporting, and demonstrate masterful storytelling and impact. Judging is done by prominent journalists and educators. First-place winners receive $1,000 and are honored at a fall ceremony in Washington, D.C. First-place winners will also be considered for the America’s Promise Journalism Awards for Awareness and Action, presented by America’s Promise Alliance. Winners of the America’s Promise awards will receive $5,000 and will be announced at the Medals ceremony.
