Foundations play a critical role in advancing the work of human rights activists around the world. From ensuring the right to political participation in new democracies to supporting equality for LGBTQ people to securing girls’ right to education, foundations globally are supporting efforts to ensure that the rights of all people are promoted and protected.
Please join us for an in-depth exploration of current trends in human rights grantmaking based on a forthcoming report from the Foundation Center and the International Human Rights Funders Group. Advancing Human Rights: The State of Global Foundation Grantmaking will be the first-ever examination of human rights funding by over 700 foundations located in 29 countries with giving totaling $1.2 billion in 2010.
This overview of the state of human rights grantmaking will be followed by a panel discussion with leading human rights funders on their giving priorities and the challenges and opportunities facing grantmakers working in the field of human rights.
