The convenience and affordability of plastics have overshadowed the environmental effects of these non-biodegradable products. With effects ranging from degraded agriculture, drinkable, and non-drinkable water supplies, to the cost of transporting these materials to various landfills, it is necessary to take environmental justice into our own hands and make sustainable choices. This event instructs how educational and social service agencies play a key role in promoting and modeling these issues and how to make simple changes to stem the tide of plastic pollution.
