As part of the labor, community, business and city partners in the Yes on Everything Campaign,Oakland Rising filled over 400 volunteer shifts and identified over 6,200 Oaklanders to vote YES ON EVERYTHING in Oakland's low-income communities of color. Thanks to the hard work of volunteers, members, and voters in eats and west Oakland, Oakland Rising can proudly say that we impacted 13% of the election and all four measures passed!
Oakland Rising's work is far from finished. The Oakland Special Election Case Study will unveil Oakland Rising's unique model of collaboration, share our lessons learned, and talk about next steps to continue to build electoral and movement power in Oakland.
Oakland Rising is a collaborative of six social justice organizations that have come together to build a progressive city-wide electoral base that forwards an agenda which addresses the needs of low-income communities of color in Oakland. Oakland Rising is made up Just Cause Oakland, Asian Pacific Environmental Network, EBASE, Oakland ACORN, The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and the Urban Habitat.
