Dr. Caitlin Ryan, Director of the Family Acceptance Project at SF Sate University will discuss the ground breaking new research that she and her team have conducted with Latino LGBT youth and their families. Dr. Ryan will also discuss the findings, impact on care, and the new bilingual services they are developing with Child and Adolescent Services at SF General/UCSF to help diverse families with LGBT children increase support and decrease rejection of their LGBT children to decrease their children's risk for serious health and mental health problems, including substance abuse, suicide, and HIV infection.
